009 Special [Voice, Action]

Kurtis, Rebecca, Charlotte!  I haven't seen enough of you guys around here at the carnival and we haven't had much chance to do stuff together. Who knows how much longer this thing's gonna be around, and I don't have too many tokens left.   I'm on break from barking for the rail shooter ride.  Trying to get more tokens for then. ...Those droids are slave drivers, man.

So anyway, call me on this thing, or meet me in the Arcade later today. Wanted to try out a couple of those games and see what sort of prizes are up for collection. Don't leave me waiting, guys! ...what?  Yeah, I'm coming, hold on. Jeez, pushy...

[Later on, Adell can be seen playing one of the VR Arcade games, participating in a brawling fighter. It actually looks like he's beating up crooks and thugs in a jail during a break... and he's seriously kicking some ass.   Just his style. Feel free to approach if you're in the neighborhood. Or bug him back when he's barking!]

[Adell picks up one of the pistols that is available, and prepares to insert a token.]

[Kurtis picks up the other pistol, and gets ready to play.]

Let's do it!

[Adell shoves in the token and begins to open fire at the targets.]

[Kurtis opens fire, as well, hitting targets with expert accuracy.]

[Far better than Adell, that's for sure. Kurtis's score eclipses his in about a second, and just climbs higher with each shot! Though somehow Adell does do well enough to win a prize. Even if it's not nearly as big as the one Kurtis was about to win. Adell gets a look at the final score and is rather stunned to see just how blown away he was.]

Wow! ...You need to play against Rozalin sometime!

I've seen her use a gun, she's very talented. You didn't do too bad yourself.

Thanks. ...Really, it's only because I play video games with my kid brother. He still beats me at a lot of the shooting ones. Spends way too much time on 'em sometimes. I've never shot a real gun before.

[With that, one of the droids at the booth wheels up and hands Adell his prize. ...Which is a plushie. Of Rozalin. ...He just stares at it, kind of dumbfounded.]

[And Kurtis gets a huge plush Pringer X.]

That's... strange.

That's... actually kind of cool.

[Adell is staring. The plush Pringer X is actually taller than Kurtis.]

Wow. I guess I'm lucky mine's small enough to carry in one arm...

Yours looks like Rozalin. I wonder how they knew?

I don't know. I guess the same way they know about any of us. I can't tell why they would do this.

[Adell looks down at the Rozalin plushie again. It's... actually very accurate. And cute. He kind of looks at it, remembering her back home.]

...Oh well. Still, it was fun. Wonder what kind of other prizes they have around.

I haven't played many of the games, so I don't know. There must be some more interesting ones.

[Adell gestures to the various other carnival games. Looks like there's many crane games, shooting games, and a few strength challenges.]

I wouldn't mind checking out the strength-based games myself. Got a preference?

[Kurtis looks around, noticing one of those use-the-mallet-to-ring-the-bell games. It was much taller than the typical model, for Luceti's stronger residents.]

[Adell runs over and hands over a token to the droid. In return, he's given a massive hammer. He works on getting a strong grip on the handle, and then prepares his best swing!

BAM! Adell cleanly hits the target, sending the metal weight straight up the wall, right into the bell.]

[Now Kurtis gives it a try. He takes the hammer and weighs it in his hand, getting a feel for it. Then he gives his best swing. He's stronger than he looks, and the weight flies up the wall, stopping just before hitting the bell and falling back to where it started.]

Nice one, Kurtis!

Man, imagine the faces of people back in our world. They wouldn't believe that a Prinny could do something like that! Heh, that'd show them something about inner spirit.

Heh, I'm sure it would.

[And the droid's coming over with another prize, this time a heavy plastic replica of a Netherworld Excalibur. Shiny! Adell takes the large toy into hand.]

Heh, you'd think Laharl would like one of these if it was real?

I'm sure that he would.

[Kurtis gets a consolation prize. A cheap Captain Gordon figurine, one of countless ones produced on Earth.]

[Adell looks at the prize Kurtis got.]

Heh, Gordon. Wonder how he's doing right now, anyway.

Knowing him, he's probably already found and destroyed the source of those copies and is at Pizza Shack enjoying a slice of teriyaki pizza.

Teriyaki pizza? ...Why does that sound strangely good?

It is good, actually. Gordon can't get enough of it.

Hm. I wonder if we can get Duo to cook up something like that here.
