009 Special [Voice, Action]

Kurtis, Rebecca, Charlotte!  I haven't seen enough of you guys around here at the carnival and we haven't had much chance to do stuff together. Who knows how much longer this thing's gonna be around, and I don't have too many tokens left.   I'm on break from barking for the rail shooter ride.  Trying to get more tokens for then. ...Those droids are slave drivers, man.

So anyway, call me on this thing, or meet me in the Arcade later today. Wanted to try out a couple of those games and see what sort of prizes are up for collection. Don't leave me waiting, guys! ...what?  Yeah, I'm coming, hold on. Jeez, pushy...

[Later on, Adell can be seen playing one of the VR Arcade games, participating in a brawling fighter. It actually looks like he's beating up crooks and thugs in a jail during a break... and he's seriously kicking some ass.   Just his style. Feel free to approach if you're in the neighborhood. Or bug him back when he's barking!]

[Kurtis hears Adell and soon enough he can be seen entering the arcade.]

[Hey! It's a Kurtis! Have Adell waving to you, near a game that looks like a shooting gallery.]

Kurtis! Hey, glad you came! This thing looks like something you might like!

[Rebecca said she'd come, didn't she? She still has all forty of her tokens, Adell.]

Ah...Adell. I haven't been yet. I'm still in the village.

Well, why don't you come on over, then? I'll meet you at the entrance. We'll have a good time of it!

That does look fun. Shall we give it a try?

...If you're sure. I guess it couldn't hurt.

[JUST WAIT, Charle will be sneaking up on him... again!]

[Adell picks up one of the pistols that is available, and prepares to insert a token.]

You'll have fun. I promise. There's bound to be something you like, even if it's just the shooting gallery. I'll meet you by the entrance!

[Sure enough, Rebecca's there. She looks kind of nervous as she waits for Adell, though. This whole place is so different from her world.]

[OOC; ...Does Adell have a date for the ball? >>;]

[Or... will she? Adell waits for Charlotte to get close then spin around quickly!]

A-HA! Trying to scare me again, weren't you?

[And here comes Adell, with a big soda, and carrying a paper cone with pink... stuff coming out the top. Cotton candy! He comes over to her.]

Heya, Rebecca! Glad you could make it. I got you this!

[Adell holds out the cotton candy to Rebecca.]

This is a snack they serve at parks like this. It may look a little weird if you've never seen it, but... give it a taste. I think you might like it!

[Wow, Rebecca is flustered really easily. She kind of just stares at the cotton candy.]

Hello. ...It's food? It looks like a cloud, Adell. How do I eat it?

You just bite into it. Kinda like an apple. But don't do it very hard.

[She's so embarrassed. Please forgive her for coming from the middle ages. She'll take a bit, a bit of a sloppy one, and kind of stare in confusion for a second.]

I-It melted in my mouth. Is that supposed to happen?

[If he was back in his own world, he'd be wondering what her deal is. Here in Luceti, he's learned pretty quick that lots of people haven't seen the kind of technology he has. Explaining the amusement park over and over to people has actually taught him more in patience. Also it helps Rebecca told him she'd never seen anything like the park, so he's prepared.]

Yup. It's woven sugar. Tastes pretty good, huh?

Woven sugar, huh? ...Yeah, it's got a strange texture, but it's kind of good...I've never had anything like it.

[Oh, look, she'll even smile for you.]

[A smile! That's good. She may get used to all of this yet.]

They call it cotton candy. Considering it resembles cotton blossoms, I guess. Anyway, why don't we start by going to check out the games? You said you were an archer, and they have a shooting gallery, so they might have those moving targets you've been looking for!

[Kurtis picks up the other pistol, and gets ready to play.]

Let's do it!

[Adell shoves in the token and begins to open fire at the targets.]

[Kurtis opens fire, as well, hitting targets with expert accuracy.]

[Far better than Adell, that's for sure. Kurtis's score eclipses his in about a second, and just climbs higher with each shot! Though somehow Adell does do well enough to win a prize. Even if it's not nearly as big as the one Kurtis was about to win. Adell gets a look at the final score and is rather stunned to see just how blown away he was.]

Wow! ...You need to play against Rozalin sometime!

I've seen her use a gun, she's very talented. You didn't do too bad yourself.

Thanks. ...Really, it's only because I play video games with my kid brother. He still beats me at a lot of the shooting ones. Spends way too much time on 'em sometimes. I've never shot a real gun before.

[With that, one of the droids at the booth wheels up and hands Adell his prize. ...Which is a plushie. Of Rozalin. ...He just stares at it, kind of dumbfounded.]

[And Kurtis gets a huge plush Pringer X.]

That's... strange.
