...Man, thunderstorms suck.  Really not a whole hell of a lot to do out there today...  If someone has an idea of what to do for now, I'm open to suggestions.

Well, I'm more looking forward to tomorrow.  If the weather's decent, I'd like to spar with a few people.  Terra, we still haven't had a chance to fight yet, and I've owed you that for like, a month.  So we need to do that!    Flynn, if you're not busy, I wouldn't mind a go at it either.

And Goku!  You and I have to fight too!   It'd be good to have a strong, friendly rival fistfighter here!

I'm also open to any others who may want a battle in the future.  Gotta practice and not get rusty!

Sounds perfect! Where is it?

[ghetto directions to some clearing around community house #5. it'll.. be fairly unique.]

We have the standard "tap out, pass out, forfeit" rule.

...Uh, I'm not too familiar with tournament rules. The last two are self-explanatory, but what's the first?

Tap out? Just if you step out of the area.

[identity profile] fighting-fool.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
That's the most common one!

I figured. You shouldn't be fighting in a spar until you fall over unconscious.

[Adell laughs lightly.]

You.. shouldn't?

But what if your opponent is really strong?

[identity profile] vulcanblazer.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
...Usually fighting until you're unconscious is pretty bad for you.

That's not to say you shouldn't put your all into sparring! Holding back can defeat the purpose. You should get wiped out by it. That's how you get stronger. But falling over unconscious can sometimes be the line where it stops being good for you.

At least, that's what I was taught! Give it your all, but know your limits in training. You should always push them, but going too far can leave you in worse shape than when you started.
