[Why does all this feel so familiar? So many people, so many new faces, it seems unbelievable. It's enough to give this poor demon a headache, especially considering he has to be out in the thick of it to make sure he keeps the peace.

Adell can be found pretty much anywhere in town, keeping an eye out for fires that need to be extinguished. Of course, he might have a few of his own to deal with if he runs into the wrong people.

How long of a weekend is it going to be for this guy?...]

[When he gets through the crowd to her, he pauses, looking her over briefly... and noting her demonic wings rather than the Filials New Feathers would have. Like the wings he had...]

Are you okay? Nobody around here's been giving you trouble, have they?

[He still remembers his promise, even after all this time.]

[And Rozy.... is oblivious thus far to his wings. They are in a crowd after all and it's not exactly what's on her mind...]

I-I'm perfectly fine, but where have you been!? What is going on?! Where ARE we?

[Yep. She expects you to have ALL the answers, Adell. :D SO DID YOU MISS HER?]

[More than she could ever imagine.

Still, his answer is more cryptic than he'd like it to be.]

...That's kind of a long story. This place is called Luceti.

[That's all he says, at first. He gives her somewhat of an apologetic look. It really is a long story, and the questions she asked have no easy answers.]

A long story? How can it be a lo--

[She suddenly pauses her berating as she catches something in his expression that makes her fall silent. Silently she studies his face, confusion and uncertainty forming in her own expression from what she sees there.]

But...

We should go someplace a little quieter before I explain everything further. This crowd's too heavy to comfortably discuss this stuff.

[He points over by one of the larger community buildings, which along one side is pretty empty, and relatively secluded. As much as the bustling village can manage, anyway.]

Over there looks good. Come on.

[He motions for her to follow him, and he starts heading that way.]

Alright.

[Somewhere less crowded would be very desirable... however she only takes a few steps to follow him before coming to a complete stop since she now got a rather good look at his back.]

[He figured that would happen. When she stopped, he continued for a couple of more steps, then motioned for her to continue following.]

It's not what you're thinking it is. I'll explain that too, I promise.

[noblerose]

[She doesn't know what he thinks she thinks it is... because really she has no idea. All she knows is there are a pair of feathered wings on his back which makes no sense what-so-ever. Adell doesn't have wings. ...but it IS him... his eyes... the colour of his hair... the scars on his cheeks. He's him enough to convince her to continue after him.]

You have a LOT of explaining to do.

[Adell resisted the urge to say that was one hell of an understatement. There'd be a ton of explaining to do. Still, when they reach the quiet of the side of the community building, he turns back around to face her.]

This is gonna take awhile. And forgive me for being blunt.

But yes, this place? It's called Luceti. And we're nowhere near Veldime. This is a completely different world, a different universe. All the people here come from a variety of different worlds for reasons we haven't yet figured out. So I don't know how you, or I, got here at all.

As for the wings... they're what tie you to this world, and allow you to survive. Removing the wings is extremely painful, and losing both will kill you. Some people think these things are what allow us to understand one another, too. So I'm not dead or an angel or anything, at least.

[He sighs, and leans against the wall and looks over to her.]

...it doesn't look like you have them, though. Probably means you're not in any real danger... and you might not be stuck here that long.

[noblerose]

[That was a LOT to take in. Rozalin looks bewildered, more so than Adell can even realize. After taking a moment to try to digest it all, she finally speaks up softly.]

...How long have you been here?

[vulcanblazer]

[Adell sighs again, resisting the urge to look away from her. It was tempting to look to the horizon instead, but no. He looked her directly in the eye, his own tone getting gentler... and somewhat reflective.]

Going on three and a half years now.

[noblerose]

Three and a half years...

[She repeats that softly, surprised by this. And instead of starting to look like she's understanding or something... she just seems to look all the more confused and uncertain of what to say.]

Yeah... it's been awhile.

[Still, he notes the confusion she's having.]

...This is gonna sound stupid to ask, but... what's wrong? This isn't quite how I was expecting you to take this.

[noblerose]

I...I'm not sure how to explain.

[She pauses a moment, trying to figure out how to even BEGIN... especially since now this really makes no sense.]

I-I was not in Veldime before I found myself here. I... was brought to a place... a place full of parts of different worlds... by a dragon--which must sound completely ridiculous.

[vulcanblazer]

[He nods to her story.]

After all the things I've seen here, that doesn't sound nearly as weird as it would normally.

...But what was happening to you?

[noblerose]

Well, supposedly they were saving me and everyone else who's brought there from something they have yet to explain. It has yet to make any sense.

Or else... everyone has just been, well, living, I suppose.

[vulcanblazer]

...Save you?

[He thought that was his job. Still, he can't help but genuinely worry, and it's evident in his tone.]

But you've been safe and sound since then, right? I know you've gotten a lot stronger than when we first met, but...

[noblerose]

You have nothing to worry about. Someone with a certain promise has been keeping me safe.

[She turns her gaze to him, assuming he more than knew what she meant by that.]

That's why you being here makes no sense.

[vulcanblazer]

...Wait, what?

[He does understand, and it takes him a minute to realize and process it.]

...So I'm there. But I don't remember anything about dragons or another world other than this one.

I wonder if... maybe that theory is true?

[noblerose]

[And thus why she was so confused suddenly makes sense, eh Adell?]

What theory?

Well, there's a couple of them.

If the theory that time in our homeworlds stands still while we're here, and that if we forget ever being here in the first place when we get set home, it may be possible that Adell is a future version of myself.

...The other possibility is given the nature of Luceti, it being something of a hot spot for individuals from multiple universes to end up? Is that there are actually an infinite number of parallel universes out there and we may not be from the same ones.

[...That sounds way more complicated and intelligent than you'd expect from him, doesn't it, Rozalin?]

...But ultimately, it doesn't matter if we're the same person or not. I still made you a promise. And for however long you may be here, I'll keep it.

[noblerose]

[....Yeah that was pretty complicated, though she's not as surprised as you might expect. She knows Adell is smarter than he let's on sometimes and she also knows he's full of surprises... what with her Adell building a house. 8D ]

...Adell...

[She can't help the affectionate smile, before she tries to hide it behind a bit more of a smirk.]

Idiot. You certainly sound like the same person.

[...That smile looked oddly warm for Rozalin, but... he can't say he didn't appreciate it. He wouldn't call attention to it, though it, and her reply brought quite a smile to his face.]

Glad some things never change.

[For either of them.]

Hmph. If you had forgotten about that promise of yours, then I'd be truly worried.

[It does, deep down, worry her a little that maybe it's even her Adell's experiences that could also have been lost... but it's really impossible to say, so she tries to ignore the ache that would come with that.]

Well, forgetting it just wouldn't be my style.

[Truth be told, the idea of losing his experiences in Luceti only to be shoved into a new world worried him too. It pretty much flew in the face of everything he fought for back home. But for the moment, it was no matter.]

And you know I can't let that happen.

[Honestly, talking to her like this... it was the happiest he had felt in quite awhile. It was a truly strange feeling; she had only just gotten here, after all. And there was so much more to explain and talk about, but...

It just didn't weigh on him as heavily as it did before.]
